In the Northeast, Fall weather means packing away your summer clothes and bringing out your winter attire. That also means that it’s time to pull out your winter coats. Do they still fit? Have your kids outgrown last year’s coats? Is it time for a new one? The old ones are still in great condition. What do you do with them? Donate them to the 2016 Jersey Cares Coat Drive.
2016 Jersey Cares Coat Drive
Beginning November 1st, several businesses in the Westfield area and surrounding communities will be collecting gently used coats to donate to the 2016 Jersey Cares Coat Drive. Over the past 20 years, Jersey Cares has collected over half a million coats from generous New Jersey residents. These coats were distributed to men, women and children in need all around the state. You never know. That old coat you have hanging in the back of the closet could help someone stay warm while they look for a job during the winter time. Or, it could keep a student toasty while they study in a chilly classroom. It might even allow a senior citizen to make that cold trek to the pharmacy for their medicine in the harsh winter weather.
Many area fire departments, churches, police stations, schools, businesses and organizations have signed up to collect for the 2016 Jersey Cares Coat Drive. If you would like your company or organization to join this worthy cause, you can sign up to be an official collection location as well. Simply sign up at the Jersey Cares website. You can choose to be a public collection site or a private one. If you are public, Jersey Cares will publicize your location on its website. The private option keeps information stays in the Jersey Cares files so they can keep track of where their collection sites are all located.
