A community’s strength relies heavily on the involvement of its people.  If you want your children to be productive members of society, they need to be involved in what’s happening around them.  One way to do that is through events like Westfield’s Edison School Community Day 2017.

Last year’s event was so successful, that they decided to do it again this year.  All members of the Westfield public are invited to participate in Edison School Community Day 2017.  Event coordinators put together 15 different hands-on projects for both kids and adults.  Write a letter to some of the troops serving overseas right now.  Put together care kits and help make lunches for the homeless.  Show off your artistic skills by creating “thank you” banners for Westfield’s everyday heroes such as our policemen and firefighters.  The Birthday Box (for underprivileged children) and The Ronald McDonald House feature prominently in other community service projects that will be tackled that day.

Surely you can find two hours out of your weekend to participate in Westfield’s Edison School Community Day 2017.  Just contact event coordinators Stacy Bergerman or Lisa Blitt at their respective emails above to find out more.  Or, simply drop by the school on Saturday, May 6th, and see it for yourself.  This also makes a great opportunity for your high school student to receive community service hours, which looks great on their college applications.
