As 2016 wound down, the Westfield area luxury real estate market continued to flourish. Westfield’s convenient location to NYC makes it an ideal location for commuters. My late December 2016 Westfield Market Report breaks down the statistics for you below.
Late December 2016 Westfield Market Report
Active Westfield Luxury Homes for Sale
The Garden State MLS reported a total of seven Westfield luxury homes for sale in late December 2016. Of those, five were newly constructed or ready to be built properties. Four of them came on the market in the last 30 days, including a Michael Mahoney custom Colonial just last week.
Westfield Luxury Homes Under Contract
Two Westfield luxury homes are currently under contract. One, a brand new, move-in ready Colonial, spent 24 days on the market. The other, an 11-year-old Colonial, spent 77 days on the market.
Westfield Luxury Homes Sold in Late December 2016
Eight luxury homes sold in Westfield in the latter part of December 2016. Newly constructed properties made up six of them. Three spent less than 30 days on the market. In fact, a Seller purchased one property the same day it went on the market. It currently awaits construction. A Michael Mahoney home that spent 20 days on the market and a Premier Design Custom Homes property that spent just 25 days on the market make up the other two properties. Four homes sold at their listed price. However, a rebuilt Colonial, was purchased for $799,900, $50,000 over the asking price.
Experts continue to tout the Westfield real estate market as a hot commodity this winter. Families move here for the excellent school system. Commuters appreciate its closeness to NYC.
